Mural on St Michael's Mount

April 02, 2012 at 3:27 PM

A fun and sunny day was recently had by island residents and families including James and Mary St Aubyn as they embarked on a 64 panel mural painting project under the direction of local Marazion Artist Glyn Macey.

Under the guidance of Glynn each participant painted their own panel as part of an overall design featuring the plants and flowers specific to the gardens of St Michael’s Mount. The sections of the mural were then all pieced together as a whole transforming the wall of the listed DUKW House building in the Island village into a vibrant and colourful mural that can now be enjoyed by islanders, locals and all of our visitors.

Cornwall Today will be doing a special feature on the mural painting in their May issue including some fabulous pictures of the mural itself but please do come and take a look for yourself. We're incredibly proud of what was achieved on the day and a big thank you to Glyn Macey for his dedication, talent and passion.
