At low tide, access to St Michael’s Mount is via the historic causeway, an atmospheric cobbled footpath across the sand. After parking at the Folly Field car park, simply stroll across the beach until you are immediately in front of the Godolphin Arms Hotel. The paved causeway, used by pilgrims in the Middle Ages, begins almost at the hotel’s back door. It takes only a few minutes to walk the length of the causeway – and the views across the bay to Penzance or out to sea are breathtaking.
