Black Flag Days
About Black Flag Days
When the wind blows too strongly from the South, the harbourmaster runs the black flag up the flag pole on the quay and the island battens down for a storm. The Black Flag signals that the sea is too rough to use boats safely, and sometimes it is necessary to wait for the swell to die down after a storm.
