7 & 8. The Church
Behind the altar in the church are three alabaster panels, each one over 500 years old, depicting religious events of huge significance. Made in Nottingham in the fifteenth century, no one is quite sure how or when they came to be at St Michael’s Mount.

The St Michael Rose Window can be found at the west end of the church. This is a wonderful example of this type of window and dates back to the 15th century, although the stained glass was made in the early 20th century.

9. The Map Room
The Map Room houses one of the Mount’s curiosities – a model of St Michael’s Mount made from champagne corks! This was made in around 1932 by Henry Lee, a butler in service at the castle at that time.

10. The Garrison
The Mount played a crucial role in the Civil War of 1642 and the Garrison Room includes a fascinating weapons collection. Muskets, musket balls and Cromwellian armour bring the war to life and demonstrate all too clearly how brutal life was in those days.
