Celebrating 100 years of the Women'e Institute

28 January 2015

It may not look like the most idyllic day for a dip but these ladies braved the south westerlies for a surf in front of the Mount.

It is not all Jam and Jerusalem at the Women's Institute as these ladies prove as part of the 100 year celebrations of the Women's Institute in the UK. As part of the nationwide celebrations a 'baton' has been created and is travelling throughout the 69 federations. The baton arrived in West Cornwall on Tuesday and was taken to Land's End yesterday morning, before arriving by vintage Aston Martin in Marazion, where there were many photo opportunities in front of St Michael's Mount, with over 100 members in attendance.

Thank you to Peter Puddiphatt for sharing his photograph.
