As part of our Coastal Garden Season between April – June, we called for budding photographers to send in their photos of the gardens into our #seagarden photography competition.
We would like to thank everyone who entered their photos into the competition. We received over 70 beautiful images via our social media channels, making it a difficult task for our gardening team to decide on just three winners.
The winning images each offer their own unique perspective from our coastal cliff hanging gardens, as can be seen below:
Image 1: Patrick Davidson, Cornwall: ‘This image conjures up the enjoyment of our visit. The stillness and shelter of the walled garden with spring and summer blooms bathed in the warm sunshine of the day, combined with the magnificent view across the east of Mounts Bay, sweeping round to Cudden Point and beyond.’
Image 2: Linda Hunt, Cheshire: ‘I entered this image as I thought it would be a bit different, and I just loved the combination of the green plants against the blue of the sea and the sky – I like the simplicity of it.’
Image 3: Tara Jarvis, Shropshire: ‘I chose the image because I think it shows the beauty and uniqueness of the gardens. I also like the sky, sea and path tucked under the trees.’
The photographs have been printed onto canvas and can be found hanging in the St Michael’s Mount Summer House during July and August, 2016. When you next visit the gardens, please do make sure you view the images in the inaugural summer house exhibition. Available to view from 7 July to 2nd September.
